Nutrition - Your Food Carrier, Your New Best Friend

This tip is designed to show you how much of your success and those who have mastered their bodies comes down to creating easy, user friendly systems and how something as simple as carrying your food around with you, makes a monumentally positive impact on your lifestyle and has a massive impact on developing a lean, muscular body.

Your new best friend is going to be your food carrier. You are now one of those different people who carries their food around with them so that you will almost never miss a meal and you will always be able to fuel your body correctly and precisely and become the fat incinerating muscle building machine that you desire.

Your food carry system basically consists of a cooler type bag, individual food containers, shakers and protein powder containers, supplement containers and cutlery.

A few handy practical hints to consider are as follows. The first consideration is size. A food container needs to be big enough to carry all that you need but not so big that it is more trouble to lug everywhere than necessary. To this end you may want to consider having different sizes of food carriers for different days. The other critical factor in terms of size is how your actual food boxes fit inside the container. The absolute key to a good set-up is matching your food containers to your bag exactly. The fit should be snug with minimal movement as this will save endless cleaning of your bag. If you are getting it all from the same store, take the prospective cooler bags you are looking at to the container section and try them all out to ensure you get a good fit. Ideally, if you can store your shaker together with your food that's great but the greater priority is containers that fit well with the bag you select. Finally you should make sure your bag has enough pockets for supplements, cutlery and other bits and pieces.

As for shakers there are many cheap shakers about that look just like the better ones but are in fact inferior. A good quality shaker has a flip top lid that should lock tight (you should be able to tip it upside down whilst filled and the lid stays locked). It also has a good rubber gasket in the rim of the screw top half. Many cheap, crappy shakers have no gasket or a completely ineffective harder plastic one that does nothing. Proper shakers should have mesh style grill as opposed to a mixer type insert as protein shakes tend to foam more than you like anyway so making the foaming worse is pointless.

There is a trend also for the grill to be integrated into the screw top lid which is not really a great thing as you need to keep pulling it out to clean which defeats the purpose of securing it there in the first place. Also the grill in the lid is sometimes used to substitute for a gasket but doesn't really do the job all that well. A standard brand with the features listed is the Ultimate Shaker. These are often re-branded with supplement company logos but the specs are the same. One final tip regarding shakers is if you are using multiple powers, find out which ones mix the best and put them in first, as they are lest likely to clump at the bottom. Of course putting the water in first is always best but if you are carrying stuff around this is not always possible. There are some shakers with a separate compartment on the bottom, which is handy, but I am yet to see one with an adequate grill and I don't know about the gaskets on them either.

In terms of cutlery, I prefer to use plastic so I can just dump the fork in the box after I finish without worrying about keeping it clean or dirtying up a compartment. You can use metal of course especially if you eat steaks or chicken fillets without cutting them up first before packing them.

If you are taking a number of supplements I find it easiest to carry them in the plastic pill containers with the separate compartments and little doors for easy dosing. I also find it easiest to buy a whole bunch and pre-pack them all so I am not forever opening endless supplement bottles every day.

In the end it comes down to something so simple - you don't carry your food, you don't succeed. You know what to do and how to create powerful fat loss and muscle building plans now you just have to execute them.
